Mockingbirdもっきんばーど @ Tokyo

What better to spend an evening with the colleagues than in an izakaya? Answer: Izakaya that has kushiyaki/yakitori.

The izakaya is called Mockingbird もっきんばーど (Minkamba).

We ordered a selection of yakitori that included the must have yakitori shio, wings, liver and negima.

And that was followed with quail eggs, pork rolled in shiso (perilla) leafs, shishito (green peppers), shishamo (pregnant fish), gingko nuts and mentaiko (spicy cod roe).

What we really enjoyed was the boiled beef tongue. It was flavourful and tender. And the final mentaiko rice with soy sauce topped with plenty of nori (seaweed) was a nice end to the evening.

Great ambiance, prompt service, but you will need to reserve as it was always popular.

Umbrella covers

What left a deep impression was the reusable umbrella covers. It was raining when we visited, so that was an environmentally friendly touch.
