Tim Ho Wan 添好運 @ Hong Kong

While this is not the Micheline starred Tim Ho Wan in Mong Kok, all its branches in Hong Kong have held up the standard so far.

Tim Ho Wan is one of the world’s most famous Hong Kong Dim Sum restaurants. Founder Chef Mak Gui Pui and Chef Leung Fai Keung started the first restaurant in Mong Kok March 2009 carrying the concept of “Freshly made to order”, promising to serve the food at its best taste but the most affordable price. It allows every ordinary people to enjoy the 5-star culinary art. The restaurant found its international recognition when the original Mong Kok branch dèbuted in the 2010 edition of the Michelin Guide.

Tim Ho Wan’s most popular dishes are Baked BBQ pork buns (sweet crusty bread with sweet BBQ pork), Steamed Egg Cake, Vermicelli Roll with Pig’s Liver (fantastic, the pork liver was not overcooked, a common mistake in other places) and Pan Fried Carrot Cake (softer than most others).

This is the Kowloon West Station outlet – not crowded at 10 am in the morning though, maybe because it is located at an awkward part of the cavernous building. Good location to go to if you are rushing to catch a train to Guangzhou or Shenzhen.
