Paul Maison De Qualité is a chain bistro/cafe/sandwich bar/bakery and has multiple locations around Singapore. The Dinner special at Westgate at $14.80++ for a main and a drink was a steal given the quality of the main choices. Stumbled upon this by chance, but was presently surprised.
Boeuf Braisé servi avec une panière boulangère et une salade – Braised beef, potato, carrot, onion, leeks, country bread and mix salad. The pieces of beef were not dry and still had hints of fats, and it went very well with the toasted baguettes.
Cuisse de poulet rotie – herb marinated chicken leg served with salad, carrots and roasted potatoes. How can I get my hand on this recipe? The leg of chicken was not dried out, as you would expect from these chain stores. This was moist and well-spiced. You get hints of rosemary, thyme and others less distinct and I could not guessed from just eating it.
Tartine d’avocat – tartine bread with a spread of prawn and egg mayonnaise topped with fresh avocado and cherry tomatoes. All white egg and prawn with mayo on a piece of toasted bread with a slice of avocado. Very easy to make at home. The avocado was a bit too raw for my liking
The meals came with a drink, the coffee was not the lousy big pot coffee, but not the handmade barista version. Still good beans made the good coffee.
Service was OK, just your neighbourhood good eats place.
