Yakusuni Shrine
The Second Shrine Gate was built in 1887. It is the biggest bronze torii gate in Japan.
The bronze, life-size stature of a fine steed was presented in 1958 to honour the memory of the horses that served the military in WWII.
The statue of a carrier pigeon atop a globe honours the birds that were messengers in wartime.
The statue of the German shepherd represents the canines that fought alongside the soldiers.
Memorial of War Widow and Children. Commissioned in 1975 by the their children, the statue was a tribute to the hardship and courage the widows of war endured to raise these children to adulthood.
Haiden (Main Hall) was built in 1901.
