Another office dining place, Squires Loft is just located below my Melbourne office. They have been serving steaks for over 20 years with proprietary sauces and baste and custom grills for a unique cooking process that creates a nice char on the meat.

Situated at the bottom of St Kilda Road Towers, this meaty joint is an upmarket and contemporary interpretation of an old-school steak house. The team at Squires Loft know what they’re doing; when you dine here you know you’re going to get delicious food and premium service.

 

We usually come here for an after-office drink. The beers are always ice cold, and they bring in special batches of bottled beers from specialist breweries.

ribeye on the bone

I went for the black Angus ribeye on the bone which was cooked medium rare to perfection and was really a flawless cut of meat.

I got the creamy mushroom sauce, it almost doesn’t need a sauce as the basting has sufficient flavour. Came with its side of chips which were crisp and hot and well salted. The chips were yummy when dunked into the sauce

The fried onions were crisp and tasted like deep fried shallots.

And we ordered asparagus not he side to go with the bare steaks.

Usually quite a business crowd in this particular one given the location but it’s definitely a spot for everyone! Get there for a reliable steak and a nice red to match.
