When I first saw their name, I thought they were selling shoes because there’s a leather shoe shop in Taiwan called La New.

LeNu Chef Wai’s Noodle Bar is a casual noodle joint that serves up above-average bowls of noodles. Three types of noodles are offered, Shanghai style ramen, local thick vermicelli and hor fun (rice noodles). The noodles are all made from dried versions, so it wasn’t too outstanding.

LeNu is a bright, casual eatery with an open kitchen that allows diners full view of the cooking process. A simple noodle bar featuring small tables and stools, it is the perfect spot for a quick meal at any time of the day.

The set would come with an appetiser of your choice.
Beef Combination Noodle in Braised Beef Broth (Wagyu Beef, Tendon, Shank) 红烧牛三宝面 (和牛、牛筋、金钱牛腱)

红烧牛三宝面 (和牛、牛筋、金钱牛腱)
It took them 18 hours of preparation and perfect blend of Chinese herbs and spices to produce their braised beef broth 红烧牛骨汤, which uses only the freshest beef marrow, bones and other premium ingredients for the most authentic beef taste.

The beef noodles reminded me of the ones you get in Taiwan.
Chef Wai’s Dry Noodle with Anchovies 秘制江鱼仔拌面

I always prefer a dry noodle vs a soup noodle. Dry noodle, for the uninitiated, is noodles with the sauce mixed in like a pasta.

While it was very savoury and crunchy, I don’t like the texture of the anchovies with peanuts, which was hard upon hard. And the sugar coating wasn’t my groove.

Tossed in Chef Wai’s special homemade sauce, this is a divine union of sweet and savoury flavours, similar to Shanghainese scallions oil noodles 葱油拌面.
Vegetable Pork Wanton Noodle in Pork Bone Soup 菜肉云吞猪骨汤煨面

12 hours of simmering to reduce 30 kg of pork bones stock to 8 kg of this signature pork bone soup 招牌猪骨汤, which is rich in collagen and protein to delight diners both young and old alike. Shanghai-style vegetable pork wontons 菜肉云吞 were enormous, not something regular like those in Singapore.
Pork Wanton in Chilli Vinaigrette 红油抄手

This dish originated from Sichuan and features wontons swimming in a spicy, savoury chilli oil. Their pork wontons 抄手 were like the size of dumplings 水饺, which is not a good size for this dish. BTW it is the same wontons that come with the noodles.
Crispy Chicken Cutlet 鸡扒

By deep-frying chicken cutlet coated in panko breadcrumbs, you can perfect the consistency of crispy golden-brown crumbs around the chicken. I liked the fact they used chicken thigh instead of chicken breast made it really delicious.

The noodles are good, the service is prompt, and the table turnover rate is fast. What more can you ask for a quick lunch.
