This particular Sancai pottery is unique because of the black glaze used the horse.
The sanctity of childbirth and the male-female figures are important symbols of Chinese Neolithic culture.
The sculptures depict a trainer desperately trying to rein in the disobedient horse, capturing the tension between them.
