Good Eats

In my old blogsite of Live2Makan, I used to list out some of the best buffets in Singapore. My favourite was the Italian buffer brunch on Sundays at Basilico (Regent). With age, we cannot eat too much (cannot digest), and need to watch the fats and cholesterol intake. Also, little princess cannot eat free anymore 🙂

But after an afternoon swim, we had a craving for oysters and chilled seafood. So Aquamarine came into mind (not because of their fame, but because they were featured in the newspaper that week).

The buffet ($69++ per adult) had an impressive oread of chilled seafood. Unfortunately as with many of these buffets, the seafood and to be prepared way in advance, so more of the clams and mussels were all dried out. And the bigger items like the Thai prawns and snow crabs legs were blanched until no taste. The only item worth a second trip to the table was the chilled prawn. And oysters? Fresh, but after a dozen, you moved on.

Little princess went straight for the dessert, attacking the durian penget and cakes with finesse.

Can skip the Japanese selection, waste of time and precious calories.

Laksa was quite flavourful, but without hum (cockles). And also, please take out the laksa leaves (whole leaves, not flakes) from the broth.

All in all, great service, good spread, and for the price, ok.
