National Day 2013, we decided to go near where the action was to watch the fireworks. All the restaurants around the bay area were full. Wooloomooloo at Swissotel was blocked by Suntec and Esplanade, but you still get an unobstructed view of the fireworks. Wooloomooloo is an Australian steakhouse from Hong Kong – that’s right, despite all the decor and menu, it was really a Hong Kong restaurant that served New York steakhouse-style food. Talking about mixed identity. I wasn’t very impressed by the Hong Kong outfit (as it was in LKF and was very rowdy), but this one had a great view of the fireworks.

Classy steakhouse with Australian aborigine art, the front part was a bar with a great view of the Esplanade and a main dining area with different sections.

Service as fantastic – they even brought a shawl for my mom when the air-con was a bit too cold. And they kept my little princess entertained in between the service. And when the fireworks came on, they held all the main course and kept it warm while we watched the fireworks. However be prepared to pay $100-$150 pax excl drinks for a 3-course dinner. No, the FAR card cannot be used here.
