Near my Melbourne office on St Kilda’s is a stretch of eateries. There’s one shop that has been changing in the last few years, it was a dumpling shop which closed and the latest iteration is Thai.
Nar Bangkok is a new Thai restaurant on the busy St Kilda road – complete with an open-spaced and leafy interior, passionate and attentive staff.

You can taste that the Tom yum was made from factory paste. So I would not recommend the tom yum, very monotonous in taste.

However, the Beef with spicy basil sauce (Pad Krapao) was very well executed. Thai sweet basil with minced beef over steamed rice. Simple yet very tasty.

My colleague ordered some vegetarian dishes.

The Pad Kee Mao (Thai CKT) looks palatable, but I have no mood for any vegetarian.
All in all, a decent Thai place, but too little specimens to judge whether it’s great. But for the distance from the hotel and the office, I guess I would come for a quite bite if need to. Just like the old dumpling place.
