Good Eats

Peshawri @ Mumbai

Visited here for dinner whilst staying at the hotel. The food was fabulous! The restaurant service is fantastic, and it’s a great novelty to put an apron on when you arrive and eat with your fingers. Works really well.

Peshawri has stuck with old-fashioned ways of Indian cuisine and has earned quite a reputation for being one of the best Indian restaurants in the country.

It is a hush-hush assumption that Peshawri is another branch of Delhi’s famous Bukhara restaurant but to say this aloud is a sacrilege. The menu of Peshawri is a lot similar to the menu of Bukhara and features the same brilliant popular dishes from North Indian and Mughlai provinces. If you crave for Bukhara’s spectacular food then Peshawri can be a close second-best option.  Pair your drink with, tandoori jhinga, paneer tikka, murgh malai kabab, kadak seekh, tandoori aloo, barrah kabab, marrel fish tikka, bharwan paneer and tandoori lobster. Take a naan peshawri or tandoori naan to polish off the curries. Definitely order, dal Bukhara, murgh makhani, paneer khurchan, murgh khurchan and paneer makhani. Food is excellent and worth every bit of their hefty bill.

gulab jamun and kulfi

Following this classic Indian fare is Peshawri’s selection of traditional Indian desserts. Feast like a king on rich sweets like, phirni, rasmalai, gulab jamun and kulfi.

Peshawri is decorated like a rustic kebab place. Thick dark wooden logs upholds coarse stonewalls. Room is dimly lit and furnished with comfortable orange-colored upholstery. Walls are draped with rich vintage wall hangings and pieces of antique utensils are spread across the room adding an authentic old-fashioned Indian flavour. Bring a foreign guest here to show what true Indian hospitality is all about. Peshawri is one of the finest fine dining restaurants in Mumbai.
