From its high ceilings and concrete floors to its wooden-topped chairs and tables, Five Oars Coffee Roasters takes industrial-chic to a whole new level.
Tucked away in the conservation area of Tanjong Pagar, Five Oars if your afternoon hideouts for a pick-me-up. They also offer a lunch menu of sandwiches, pastas and quick bites, and in the evening they transformed into a proper restaurant. Quite eclectic, but I didn’t come in for the food.
So how’s the coffee?
It is like an Australian long black, a slightly bigger cup of espresso. The blend of that day was slight acidic, a bit like Ethiopian. I like more robust coffee beans so this was kind of weak.
But they are their own roasters so expect a variation of different flavours from your Coffee Beans and Starbucks.
