Seafood aplenty in a country that is surrounded by the longest coastline in the world. I am talking about Australia, and there’s plenty of the freshest of fresh seafood to enjoy in Sydney. And if you are around Darling Harbour, you will be spoiled for choice. And this day, we just decided to wonder into Blue Fish.
At the north end of the Harbourside complex in Darling Harbour, Blue Fish Seafood Restaurant has earned a reputation for having some of the best seafood in Sydney Darling Harbour. Blue Fish is in prime sun position, as you can see by the many tourists settled on the comfy outdoor couches and enjoying the fine weather.
We came for lunch and settled at a harbour view seating.
Cold Seafood Platter

Oysters, Queensland Tiger Prawns, Moreton Bay Bugs, Avocado, Crab Cocktail, Smoked Salmon, Alaskan Snow Crab, Sauces & Lemon
The whole lot, very generous for two persons. Princess devoured the avocado with gusto, I am surprised a 10 year’s appetite for that tasteless fruit. The tiger prawns are sweet and beautiful. The salmon was just lightly smoked and not too salty, just the way I liked. I especially liked the way the prawns are placed in the rock melon, which we polished off once we worked through the seafood. The only disappointment was the Moreton Bay bugs, or slipper lobsters as we called them in Singapore. They have been boiled to death and need plenty of cocktail sauce to revive them.
Bucket of Mussels

Great Australian mussels cooked with a hearty tomato base. Come with crusty toasted garlic bread. The sauce was so good that we have to order more bread to whop it all up.
Award Winning Fish & Chips

Beer Battered Fish, served with Chips & Tartare Sauce
This is a kid’s version, came with a soft drink and ice cream. Princess loved it so much that she refused to share it with us.
Great customer service, great food and great view. Music blasting over the PA, great for a summer’s day, but annoying after a while.
