Within the Tokyo Garden Terrace Kioicho are some good eats restaurants and cafe catering to the business and office workers around Kioicho. Among them is an Italian cafe called Garb Central. Its set lunches (menu changes frequently) are worth queueing for.
Built on the site of the old Akasaka Grand Prince Hotel, the long-awaited Garden Terrace complex in Kioicho is home to several noteworthy eateries, including Garb Central, which occupies the casual ground-floor spot boasting a spacious terrace and a very reasonably priced, Mediterranean-inspired fusion menu.
To start with, you get a cup of warm soup and daily baked bread (usually a piece of baguette and a soft sweet bun), followed by an assorted mezze.
There’s 3 types of mains to choose from – Wafu pasta, Japanese curry rice or their daily special.
Today, the daily special is the hamburger. The patty is made with pork and beef, and you can assemble the burger the way you like it.
Come early, the queue for lunch is always long. But with the quality (and quality) of the food, you can see why this is becoming one of the more popular lunch places around Kioicho.
