Takagi Ramen opened at the brand new Woodlands Square, bringing long awaited competition to Ajisen and Konjiki Hototogisu at CWP.
Tonkotsu ramen (豚骨ラーメン) is a ramen dish that originated in Fukuoka. The soup broth is based on pork bones and other ingredients, which are typically boiled for several hours, and the dish is traditionally topped with sliced pork belly chashu and served with ramen noodles that are hard in the center. In Fukuoka, tonkotsu ramen is referred to as Hakata ramen.

This is the basic configuration. The noodles they served are Hakata-style ramen. And the most popular one in Japan is Ichiran. Another popular store in Singapore that serves this style of ramen is Ippudo. But it seemed that their noodles had an alkaline aftertaste.

The black garlic pork soup stock had a burnt taste, not in a good way but the chao-da taste.

Princess ordered this, and boy, it was SPICY! It even spicier that the Volcano ramen from Ajisen.

The ramen came with sides and drinks. And this ramen chain is special as such because they also sell bubble tea. And their bubble tea was quite good.

The shop just opened when we visited it, there was some teething problem. I hope the alkaline taste of the noodles was one of the teething problem. The store is opened 24 hours.
