Brought some Japanese guests to Broomfield for meetings, and we were missing the izakaya experience. Someone recommended that we went over to Louisville to Por for tapas and drinks. A good recommendation indeed.

For many years, /pôr/ wine house has been an iconic dining destination in downtown Louisville. It combines great wine, great good, and great ambience.

Established in 2014, it is now on the corner or Pine and Main St. The restaurant has developed a loyal following. In addition to the impressive bar, customers have an extensive tapas menu from which they can choose their meal.
- Burrata & Braised Tomatoes
- Citrus Slow-Braised Pulled Pork
- BBQ Pulled Jackfruit
- Baja Cod
- Blistered Shishitō Peppers
- Patata Bravas
- Mixed Charchuterie Board

/pôr/ winehouse has become known for the extensive wine list, wine on tap and craft beer lists that are offered.

We came on a Tuesday, and every Tuesday all bottles of wine go for half price! We paid $35 for the bottle of Baron de Rothschild (Lafite) Bordeaux (2018). And the Pinot Noir (2016) from True Story of Williamette, Oregon was really tasty.
Burrata & Braised Tomatoes
pomodoro sauce | sherry agave roasted garlic | fresh basil | pistachio crumbles | grilled sourdough

The burrata was creamy and paired well with the pomodoro-based ragout. Dig in with the grilled sourdough, the was a great starter.
Citrus Slow-Braised Pulled Pork
jalapeño slaw | carrot habanero | pickled red onions | fried jalapeño | queso fresco | cilantro lime crema | pineapple pico

Next came three selections of tacos. I am not a big fan of tacos, so I left it alone.
BBQ Pulled Jackfruit
jalapeño slaw | carrot habanero | pickled red onions | fried jalapeño | queso fresco | cilantro lime crema | pineapple pico

However I did try the jackfruit taco. They said jackfruit tasted like meat when grilled. This taco tasted jut like any other.
Baja Cod
guacamole | carrot habanero | fried jalapeño | jalapeño slaw | sour cream | pico de gallo

Finally, a mix of Portuguese and Mexican heritage – salted baja cod with guacomole.
Blistered Shishitō Peppers
thai chili sauce | chili oil | smoked sea salt

One in ten shishito is spicy. These were not. Great eat with drinks.
Patata Bravas
house-cut fries | salsa brava | garlic aioli

A Spanish classic with garlic aioli, I would love it to be spicer.
Mixed Charchuterie Board
blue cheese | goat cheese | cheddar | assorted ham | relishes | figs and nuts | pickles

This was an impressive spread of ham, cheese and other nibbles. There were enough for 6 of us and we had a great time chatting with each other and drinking wine. I learnt a new thing tonight – honey drizzled on blue cheese is really delicious.
Afterthoughts
Although the reviews were not favourable online, we had a great time that evening because the service was sincere and food were quite good. And with 1/2 priced wines by the bottle, who can complain anymore?
