After all the wine tasting, we needed something greasy and satisfying, and nothing beats an American cheeseburger.

Founded by brothers Joel and Duncan Gott in St. Helena in 1999 when the two took over and re-launched Taylor’s Refresher, a humble roadside restaurant dating back to 1949, Gott’s Roadside is known for its modern approach to creating California-inspired dishes using locally sourced ingredients.

Today, the original St. Helena location has become a Napa Valley landmark and a family-friendly outdoor dining destination and has been declared an American Classic by the James Beard Foundation.
Double Cheeseburger
American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles & secret sauce on a toasted egg bun.

Gott’s cheeseburgers are made with only the highest-quality, locally-sourced ingredients and have been consistently named some of the very best burgers in America. They start with a third-pound patty of 100% Angus beef (vegetarian-fed so no hormones or antibiotics, ever), tucked into a bun from local Panorama Bakery and topped with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, American cheese, and Gott’s famous secret sauce.

All the burgers are made a la minute after you have ordered. The Niman Ranch beef patties are cooked medium well (a little pink inside when served) unless you ask for another doneness. They wrap them up and serve them in a paper boat, and simply get messy!
Chili
House-made beef & bean chili made with craft beer & topped with cheddar cheese & green onions.

Chicken Kale Caesar
Kale & romaine lettuce tossed with chicken, parmesan cheese, focaccia croutons, parmesan crisps & Caesar

Gott’s Soft Serves
Straus Organic Vanilla and Dutch Chocolate

The cows graze on the sweet grasses of Western Marin and Sonoma Counties in Northern California at the 12 family farms (including the Straus Dairy Farm) that supply the milk that is used to make these soft serve ice cream from Straus Family Creamery. The vanilla ice cream was delicious.

Gott’s has expanded to include locations in Napa’s Oxbow Public Market, San Francisco’s Ferry Building and Thrive City at Chase Center, Palo Alto, Walnut Creek, Marin, and a licensed location at San Francisco International Airport.
