Dumpling House @ Denver

The best thing around DTC in Denver in the evening if you are looking for a quick and simple meal.

Founded by first generation immigrants to this part of Colorado, Bryan’s is the only authentic Shanghainese style xiaolongbao eatery in town.

Original Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao 黑毛猪小笼包

I was surprised of the pinkish coagulated albinium popping out of the xiaolongbao (soup dumpling). I wished they were juicier, but the dumplings did hit the spot.

Crab & Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao 蟹粉小笼

While the pork version was good, these with an addition of crab meat was not so.

These Sichuan chilli dumplings were delicious, with the right level of spiciness and sourness from the vinegar.

Stir-Fried Noodle with Shrimps 虾仁炒面

If there’s a miss, this would be it. The stir-fried noodles had no wokhei, just a very sweet soy sauce that reminded me of the udonyaki you get in izakaya in Japan.

Stir-Fried Green Beans & Ground Pork with Garlic 四季豆

Good wokhei from this simple dish.

This is not Shanghai, and Bryan’s not Dintaifeng. But at 11pm in Denver, this was the most delicious thing available around here. Period.
