Shake Shack @ Denver

Not much time left before my connection, so I get grabbed a burger from Shake Shack in Denver Airport.

These days, they allow you to scan a QR code and order if you are uncomfortable to interact with a human. For me, I saved the hassle and went to the counter instead. Of course this being USA, you have to leave a tip if you order at the counter or the server will give you a dirty look.

At this outlet, they have a full service where you can order a drink with the burger.

And the order came in a takeaway box even when I asked for dine-in. No problem, I guessed they didn’t want to clean up after us.

ShackBurger

I ordered the classic ShackBurger, which is an American cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, ShackSauce, and I upgraded it to a double patty option. The burger was soggy and sloppily assembled. While it was smokey and tasty, the burger was not much of a gourmet burger that they claimed to be. The cheddar melted into this really fluid mess.

I didn’t enjoy the crinkled fries, even it was designed to whop up maximum amount of sauces.

Here, they offered Nitro Cold Brew (cold extracted coffee) in a can, and their classic handmade milk shake. The cold brew tasted horrible, the milk shake saved the day.

The experience was similar to those times in Singapore. I don’t think I will be eating at another Shack anywhere, anytime soon.
