We have been to the closely located two “parts” of this restaurant; this review is equally applicable to both.
A Hong Kong style “yumcha” restaurant that serves Cantonese dim sums, Citystar 24H HK Style Restaurant 京星港式飲茶 has a variety of Taiwanese snacks (江浙小吃). Located at the intersection of Zhongxiao E. Rd. and Dunhua S. Rd. (忠孝東/敦化南), this dimsum restaurant is open around the clock for diners seeking a late-night snack.
The dimsums are made to adapt to local taste, so there is a slight difference from the dimsums in Hong Kong.
The pork siumais 燒賣, shrimp rice rolls 鮮蝦腸粉 and hargao 蝦餃 were pretty good considering this was in taipei. Their other main dishes were decent too. High-end service, reasonable prices, made-to-order dishes, and fresh ingredients have all contributed to the restaurant’s success. Open 24 hours, great for a late night snack.
