Marriott Cafe on the lobby floor of Marriott hotel in Tangs building. Reopened after massive renovation of Tangs and ground floor to cover more shopping space instead of food stalls in B1.
Buffet ($68++, children under 12 half price) is laid out in a circular format with love cooking stations for noodles and pasta, and a carving station. The cooked items were one of the better one I tasted. Chilled seafood was limited in choices, but the salad bar and bread selection and dessert were quite good.
Not recommended if you are looking for something special, Indian selection or local cuisines. Service was below par for a 5-star establishment. Credit card discounts for ANZ, Citibank, UOB. Palate card holders get the usual discounts.
Chilled seafood included Alaskan snow crab, prawns, morton bay bugs and oysters.
Sushi and sashimi – very limited
Dried out prawns
Cooked food selection – Chinese section
Go for early seating or else the food will most likely to dry out from over heating.
Chinese noodle – you choose your ingredients and then the chef will blanched and pour in a stock over it.
Live pasta section – better.
Some cooked food, (bottom in clockwise) Pork Neck, Seafood paella, BBQ roasts, Yangchow fried rice, prime rib, slowed cooked beef ribs (nice).
More desserts and I have even cover the homemade ice cream. The Eaton mess in the middle was very good.
