Brazilian Japanese? Why not after one week in Vegas and all those steaks and buffet, time for something light and familiar.
Sushisamba is a really unique sushi restaurant located in The Venetian in Las Vegas. This restaurant serves up a Brazilian-Peruvian-Japanese cuisine and is a uniquely delicious dining experience.
Located at The Palazzo in the Venetian Resort & Casino SUSHISAMBA Las Vegas welcomes guests with a dramatic art installation, a three-dimensional illustration of swirling “ribbons” that explode from the center of the room, wrapping tables, and winding around the sushi bar and lounge. The decor is really eclectic but this is Vegas, it has to be bold and silly to attract the crowd.
Assortment of four sashimi, yellowtail, kanpachi, tuna, salmon
Came with a ponzu soy sauce. You can get the regular sashimi soy sauce as well. Generous cuts of fish, not exactly Japanese quality but this was good enough.
Sawagani, flash fried Japanese river crabs
OK, these will be a challenge for all with weak teeth. Not exactly soft-shelled crabs, it was more a gimmick than a gourmet cuisine. In the modern day when calcium can be obtained quite easily, you don’t really need to chew through these sawagani.
Raw Oysters, Kumamotoo, Beausoleil, Minter sweet select, Blue Point
American oysters, all big and yummy. Came with a spicy cocktail sauce and a Peruvian chutney.
Japanese A5 wagyu beef gyoza, kabocha purée and su-shoyu dipping sauce, sweet soy
Wow, the gyoza were amazing! Juicy, packed with wagyu goodness, pan fried to a nice char on the outside. Excellent filler for the end of the meal.
