After 2 weeks in US, we were craving for something Asian, something that would go well with rice. Thai food was always a good bet, as there’s quite a big community of Thai in SLC, although the challenge was usually ingredients.
Our first choice Thai restaurant was fully booked. This Bangkok Terrace was second most popular in SLC according to Open Table. Right at the side of Gaullivan Center, just go from side of the TV station.

1/ Som Tum (Papaya Salad)
Shredded papaya, carrot, green beans, tomatoes, peanut and chili. Yummy and promising start.

2/ Fresh Spring Rolls
Mixed green, carrot, cucumber, mint, basil with your choice of shrimp or tofu. Quick haphazardly put together.

3/ Tom Yum Shrimp
Spicy & Sour with lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, tomatoes, mushroom and cilantro. Not spicy.

4/ Panang Salmon
Fried salmon with our special Panang curry, bell pepper and kaffir lime leaves. Surprising this was the best curry salmon I had. The salmon was well fried and the panang curry was perfect with the salmon.

5/ Red Curry Chicken
Red curry paste, coconut milk, bamboo shoots, bell pepper and Thai basil. The vegetables were cut too big a piece. The sauce was good with rice.

6/ Pad Thai
Stir fried fresh rice noodle with bean sprout, egg, chive and ground peanuts on the side. The pad Thai was so-so, a tad too wet.

7/ Rad Nha
Flat rice noodles, Chinese broccoli and garlic in a Thai gravy. The rad nha was very authentic, and the sauce had the yellow bean sauce taste. Even the Thai restaurants in Shanghai could not reproduce the same taste.
The service was OK, the serving were huge, so they were perfect for sharing. After a week in SLC, the Thai food was just perfect.
